My journey in Shotokan Karate began in 1991 when I started training under Omura Sensei, just two years after he arrived in Thailand.
I had the privilege of training directly under his guidance for three full years before moving to England to pursue my higher education.
My journey in Shotokan Karate began in 1991 when I started training under Omura Sensei, just two years after he arrived in Thailand. I had the privilege of training directly under his guidance for three full years before moving to England to pursue my higher education.
During my years in England, where I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree studies, I continued to pursue my passion for karate. I represented the University of Sussex in numerous karate competitions, competing in both Kata and Kumite at university-level and national open tournaments across England.
Despite living abroad, I maintained a close connection with Omura Sensei and my karate roots in Thailand. Throughout my years in England, I returned to Thailand twice a year specifically to train with him, ensuring that I continued to develop my skills under his guidance.
My karate journey has therefore been shaped by two important influences: the traditional Japanese Shotokan training I received from Omura Sensei in Thailand and the competitive experience I gained while representing my university in England.
